"And did those feet..."
Guest poet: William Blake
And did those feet in ancient time,
Walk upon England's mountains green:
And was the holy Lamb of God,
On England's pleasant pastures seen!
And did the Countenance Divine,
Shine forth upon our clouded hills?
And was Jerusalem builded here,
Among these dark Satanic Mills?
Bring me my Bow of burning gold;
Bring me my Arrows of desire:
Bring me my Spear: O clouds unfold!
Bring me my Chariot of fire!
I will not cease from Mental Fight,
Nor shall my Sword sleep in my hand:
Till we have built Jerusalem,
In England's green & pleasant Land

Just finished reading Patti Smith’s book, M Train, and I am recalling her interest in Blake (which you note in an earlier blog). I was intrigued also by her interest in Alfred Wegener.
I can only guess that you will love it. I delayed finishing it because I knew I would be sorry to not be reading it anymore. I have not read them all, but have them stacked and waiting.

Yes — she is a great lover of Blake. I’ve read everything by Smith but M Train — that’s next.
